the Silence (2007) with Mike Silver Label. Cat No. Faymus Recordings FRCD 0101 » go to order form "Two great writers, two superb voices, three co-written new songs, one huge hit and a sublime Karine Polwart song as well. How many whammy's is that? This is a very special album. " Ralph McTell "An album of soaring harmonies and beautifully crafted songs from two of this countrys finest singer songwriters." Steve Knightley Since 2005, highly acclaimed singer/songwriters Mike Silver & Johnny Coppin have been wowing audiences working together as a duo. This is their long awaited debut album. Aside from featuring some of Johnny and Mikes more well- known songs, they make their debut as a songwriting team with, We Had it All, This Heart Sings a tribute to Sylvie Smith, and Survival The strength and depth of these compositions bodes well for the future. Although their singing and style are very different, the two voices are a natural mix and the way they share their songs and the performance and delivery of them, shows this to be a duo in the truest sense. "Breaking " is a live in the studio recording with the guys singing and playing their respective instruments and the result is what you hear is what you get. An up-front representation of how well they work together. The album contains a number of classics: Mikes Not A Matter of Pride which was given extensive rotation on Terry Wogans Radio 2 early morning programme in 2003 and earned him an appearance on GMTV, Johnnys Rydal and the haunting Postcards from Cornwall. Mike wrote the title track of Breaking... after seeing a BBC 2 documentary of the same name featuring interviews with survivors of 1939 - 1945 atrocities but the song reaches somewhat further than that...
