A tribute to the poetry of Laurie Lee in words and music,
with Laurie reading 12 of his poems plus an extract from "Cider
With Rosie". The songs and music are by Johnny Coppin and
Matt Clifford, and the whole album is arranged as a seasonal
cycle. First released in 1989 and previewed on a BBC Radio
4 Kaleidoscope Special and on BBC World Service.
Poems include "Day Of These Days", "April Rise",
"Thistle", "Boy In Ice", "Town Owl"
and "Landscape", while the song-settings include "Apples",
"Asleep We Are Divided", "Landscape", "The
Edge Of Day" and "On Beacon Hill".
Musicians are Matt Clifford (keyboards), Phil Beer (violin and
mandolin) and Paul Burgess.
